| Preparing For Your Photo Session |
|
Relax, photography today is pleasurable experience. Your session will be structured to achieve the results you want and we can either work with you in the studio, at home if you prefer, or on location. Before we book the date we will discuss with you the look and feel of the images you want, if shooting outside, the weather and what you feel happy wearing or what works best for the type of session. SOME TIPS:Young children photograph best when they, and you, are relaxed. Having three of our own we know how ours feel more comfortable and happy in their own surroundings, and that’s why sometimes a shoot at home works better. Even then we estimate a 1 minute window of opportunity before boredom sets in, so we try and act fast and do some daft things to keep them entertained. For babies, plain, brightly or light coloured clothes without big collars are best. If we are shooting on a white background, then white clothing from head to toe is not ideal, however a white top is fine. Whilst we have a selection of toys, a favourite playmate is often a good idea to bring out the smiles. Adults and older children should avoid small bold/busy patterns as these can dominate the portrait - so again plain bright or neutral colours work – particularly if we are shooting black and white. However, it goes without saying that if your favourite shirt/dress/babygro is all white or a very small check, and you want to wear it, go right ahead!! It's your portrait and we're here to give you the pictures you want. For group photos - again if all members can wear similar or toning colours and the same sleeve lengths (all short or all long) it does enhance the portrait, but again is not critical. Again we will always discuss in detail what you are looking for, and what we feel will give you the most from your time. |
